Poor fit, little sound protection, cheap (14/08/2011)

I thought this hearing protection headband might work decently well for the various types of shooting I do. I was very disappointed. They didn't fit the ergonomics of my head at all, always felt like a firm breeze would sweep them off. Although the sound dampening chamber idea sounds plausible, the execution offered little sound deadening; they didn't seat well in my ears either. To top it off, as I was attempting to adjust the sliding arms for fitment, the cheap thin plastic snapped in half, rendering the entire unit broken and useless. Take my advice: don't waste your money on this cheap, poorly designed, ineffective earmuff plug thing. You're FAR better off buying a proper set of earmuffs or even with those cheap disposable earplugs.

I am a sporting clay enthusiast and I use the SensGard SG31 religiously. Lightweight, easy to apply and does not interfere with my shooting glasses. Sound attenuation is remarkable for something this light. More consistent than the ear plugs that never seat in ears the same way twice.

Please read the user instructions on how to apply properly. Other than that you will be truly pleased.

I shoot at the range most weekends and have for 43 yrs. I've found these to very comfortable and very good at sound supression It doesn't look like they will end up in the box with all the other products I've used and tried if you follow the accompaning instructions they are great

I have used these for about 3 years now. I find that they work great and have purchased additional pairs that I carry with me and also use on the tractor and in the shop. They can be a little dicey at an indoor range depending on what people are shooting, but generally work as well or better than electronic muffs. While you can somewhat carry on a conversation with them on, they are not anything like the electronics. However you don't get the constant cutting in and out like you do with the electronics. They are excellent in a duck blind. They don't clamp down on my glasses like the over ear muffs, so I don't get the headache from glasses being clamped to my head. They can also be worn over or under a cap, so that you can pull them down around your neck easily. I have loaned extras out a lot at the range and they don't seem to work for everybody but the majority of people who try them find they fit and are happy with them. A rare few people have not been able to get them to fit. The earpiece is a fairly large diameter and I can understand it not working for some people. They are light and compact, easy to carry, take up very little space, I can carry 4 pair in the space of a single earmuff. The lightness is a plus, I don't feel like they are going to be blown off or displaced at all. All in all, I'm quite pleased with them and rarely use any of the numerous other earplugs, muffs or electronics that are in the cabinet.

lots of money to pay for ear protection no better than foam ear plugs for $1.99. Does muffle sound, but lots of sound gets past.

They Work (11/11/2014)

I have had a hard time with earmuff staying put on the right side the muffs always hit my cheek rest and ride off my ear. So I always wear earplugs and earmuffs. I gave the NRR31 DB a try today not problems with the cheek rest I could hear all the line commands and and all the rifles going off I had no problem with the sound of all the rifles going off. Lightweight it blocks the loud sounds of the rifles going off around you and you can talk in a normal voice and hear a normal voice with them on.
