Buyer Beware(31/05/2010)
Difficult to adjust. You will go thru alot of ammo. The metal prong that goes into Ruger sight mounts will only allow it to go so far to left or right. Recently I took one off my Ruger International and it rusted and damaged my rifle sight mounts. Contacted NECG twice and they failed to communicate.
Good product [...](19/10/2010)
I bought this sight for my Ruger Mk II RSI. [...] but I was sad to find that it didn't fit. The tab on the sight was too thick to fit into the slot in the receiver by about .010". [...]Once at the range, I really liked how it performed. The targets are much harder to see than with a scope, but not so much harder to hit! This sight is a nice compliment to a short, handy rifle like the RSI.The windage and elevation adjustments do not have any "clicks" to them, and the windage doesn't even have any markings. It seemed like the elevation changed slightly as I adjusted the windage (the windage adjustment essentially just scoots the sight left and right on the receiver, so you're essentially removing it every time you adjust windage). Despite this, it didn't take me too long to get it zeroed. So far, my factory front sight is working just fine. I may get a different blade from NECG just to tighten up my groups at the range, but the fairly-big brass "dot" blade from Ruger should be great for deer hunting.[...]Click adjustments would be nice, but not required. All in all, a good product.
Not a drop in part!(25/04/2011)
The tab on the base of the sight was a bit too thick. It required disassembly of the sight and a whisker of filing to get it to drop into the corresponding slot in the receiver. This sight would have be a simple drop in part if the tab had been slightly thinner. Other than that It was exactly what I was looking for and I really didn't mind spending the few minutes to fit it.
An excellent apeture sight(01/09/2012)
Good design, very well made. Easy to adjust windage and elevation. Bought for a Ruger 77/44 and fits and adjusts as advertised (NB. can't use rear-most ring mount position as it will foul the bolt). Only issue is limited windage range due to extension in Ruger cross-slot limiting lateral adjustment. Solution - drift the front sight to compensate. An excellent robust, low-profile peep sight.
Good sight / Requires taller front sight(07/04/2014)
I installed this sight on an older 77/22. It shot extremely high with the original front sight. I installed a .530 Marbles front sight and it still shot 6" high at 50 yards. Next I installed a .570 Marbles front, this brought it to 2" high at 50 yards. I know all rifles shoot a little different this seems to be excessive to me. Be prepared to change front sights if you put this on a 77/22.
