Perfect for building a customized lower (21/07/2014)

The CMMG AR-15 Builders Kit is perfect for completing a lower build if you plan on using a custom grip and trigger group. Nice not to pay for a standard grip, trigger guard, and trigger if you're not going to use it. Each part's machining and finish were excellent. Every part installed and functioned flawlessly. Very pleased with this kit.

Very Low Quality (05/10/2014)

I bought this kit, like the previous review to save money by not buying parts I already had. Unfortunately the only part that looked anything like the picture was the selector :-( The rest of the parts we VERY low quality, the bolt release scratched my lower due to being out of tolerance! The large pins are very rough and don't slide properly. Now I have to remove them and buy some other quality parts. I won't be buying any CMMG components again.

very easy to assemble, parts fit like a glove, I have used several different kits while building ar's this is by far the best kit i have used!

Very nice parts, fit & finish great (14/04/2015)

First off the packaging is very handy (blister pack with individual compartments and labeled). The finish was very consistent and everything fit very well. I had some old parts that I started using and after seeing these just threw them away. Part movement is as expected and not sloppy or too tight. Will buy another as a back-up set.

To date, I have purchased 2 of these kits. I liked the first enough that I went straight back to this same kit for the second. Both have been of nice quality and install easily. In the package, everything is separated and clearly labeled making assembly a snap. One thing I appreciate is that the small end of the upper to lower take down pins is concave so that if you need to use something like a punch to drive them out, it centers up on the pin and will not slip off and scratch the firearm's finish.

Purchased 4 kits to date. Consistent quality with good fit/finish. Blister pack is a wonderful assembly help and plus for keeping spares. All my rifles are still using these original build parts. After 4 years of use, I'm just now looking to redo the very first assembly and I'll renew with one of these kits rather than piece buy.

good kit (16/09/2016)

Organized kit comes in package with each part labeled. I ordered two, all parts with the exception of one bolt catch plunger went in perfectly. I emailed CMMG about the one that was tool large for either of my receivers and about 15 min later they emailed me back saying that they just dropped two new bolt catch plungers in the mail for me.

Preferred Build Kit (09/11/2017)

Built 5 lowers with this type of kit, every one a success. There is a label for every part in the packaging so it is easy to use for even beginners. Follow Brownells How-To video and you cannot go wrong. Selector switch is closest design next to the ones I used to get issued. Solid "click" between Fire/Safe, unlike some others I've seen. No stock pistol grip or trigger, which is nice to be able to customize with your own. Besides those 2 items, just need the extension tube, castle nut, end plate, buffer spring, buffer, and stock of your choice on your stripped lower and you're half way home.
